The Lady in a Red Dress

The lady in a red dress,
Trust me I am a writer but this isn't the most ideal first conversation I wanted to have with you. In a perfect world, I would have preferred to lure you with a smile, introduce myself and sit next to you but since we can't write our life's script, this should do for now.

The lady in a red dress,
The only time my eyes were blessed enough to see you was last weekend, at a party of all places. Why didn't I talk to you? A very good question, I was momentarily kidnapped by blabbering muses of the past from a friend I haven't seen in almost ten years. That moment our eyes met in this sea of people coincided imperfectly with this idiot of a friend coming between you and I, I would definitely put a pause meeting him for ten more years if only that meant I could have a minute to connect with you.

The lady in a red dress,
I despise loud places, I don't like people that much and yet, on this particular day I crawled out of my shell. I still can't figure out what pushed me to go out and honestly, if I don't get to see you, maybe God was playing a trick on me. Maybe he was like "Get out of your comfort zone, I'll show you the perfect woman, the type that you'll never forget. I'll make sure you don't get to really know her, for my amusement." If God really plotted it that way, I'd just say "Good one lord, pulling one on me".

The lady in a red dress,
I don’t even like red, surprise!! But seeing you made me realize the color red was made just for you!!. I was enchanted with this color I never pay attention to, my heart started racing a bit faster, I have never been this alive. Your smile was so radiant. You had this angelic face, beautiful lips. Your ears were adorned with small but shiny earrings, you were in all sense perfection. Your black, seemingly flawless skin found a way to show off.

The lady in a red dress,
Life is both short and elusive, I don't want to sit around waiting for the universe to align and help us find ourselves in a crowded room again.

So here is me taking a step towards you in hopes that my words will travel to you regardless of how far you could be right now.
